Building Better Opportunities/Evolve with Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) is a project aimed at supporting long term unemployed individuals to find the right direction into employment, education or further training.

BACT staff aim to help individuals with social engagement, by creating confidence building opportunities in both group and one-to-one settings. Individuals are supported to achieve step-to-step progressions, to move forwards in employment, by enhancing their IT skills to create or improve their CV. Other activities include attempts to increase participants motivation with regular job searches, plus additional support to improve grammar whilst completing all forms of applications. The main outcome is to help lead individuals closer to the labour market, whilst improving their confidence, skills and interview techniques along the way.

Group sessions are provided at Burton Library on a Tuesday and Thursday morning (9am-12pm). Additional one-to-one employability mentoring sessions are held on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon (1pm-3pm) at the Burton Albion Community Hub, Casey Lane.
